  • Spring Performance Showcase on May 5th!

    We are proud to announce that our next showcase will be at Smith’s Olde Bar in their upstairs music room on May 5th!
    Many styles of belly dance will be featured – Tribal Fusion, ATS, Folkloric and Traditional!

    Doors open at 7pm. Showtime is 7:30pm

    Tickets are $18 for VIP seating and $12 for general admission.

    Online and phone sales end at 2:00pm on the day of the show.

    On April 27, 2013 Beats Antique will return to the Atlanta area this time to Terminal West located at 887 West Marietta St NW Atlanta, GA 30318.

    Aziza Nawal teaches belly dance classes in the Buckhead/Sandy Springs area of Atlanta conveniently located near 285 and 400 off of Roswell Road.

    7-9pm: All levels class covering Middle Eastern Dance fundamentals. Each class will focus on a different technique topic and include a warm-up and cool-down.

    8-9pm: Fast paced Intermediate/Advanced level class focusing on technique and combinations of a variety of styles including Tribal Fusion, Modern Egyptian, Turkish and more.

    Awalim Dance Company will be performing every second Tuesday evening at Tantra. Following a bit of a hiatus from performing, Awalim has renewed enthusiasm and hopes to make this a habit returning to Tantra the second Tuesday of each month. Our next performance will be January 8, 2013

    That’s right – on December 5th Aziza Nawal, along with Awalim apprentices and students, will be performing at the legendary 40 Watt Club in Athens, Ga.

    The Awalim Dance Company and students invite you to an evening of fun and
    dance at our Student Show Sunday, November 11th! This show is the Semi-Annual
    Student Showcase with range of tribal, cabaret, and fusion belly dance
    choreographies as well as student solos and performances by the Awalim
    Dance Company. Ticket price is $20.00 and includes a full Lebanese dinner
    with dessert. Bring your hip scarves for a hafla (party) after the show
    with Nicola himself!

    Current session at Muse for life is continuing through September 26, but there will be no class on Wednesday September 5.

  • New Session of Classes begins August 1

    Two Class Times:

    7-9pm: Drum Solo for all levels! All levels class covering Middle Eastern Dance fundamentals plus learn Aziza Nawal’s signature technique used in her drum solo performances. A choreography will be taught that will be featured in the student showcase.

    8-9pm: Modern Egyptian Opening Number! Intermediate/Advanced level technique and choreography in the Modern Egyptian style. Learn a choreography centered around traditional Egyptian music composed specifically for belly dance and used as the opening routine (a.k.a megeance/mise en scene).
